OUR FOUNDER’S STORY
Shelly
A love of crystals.
A reason to begin again.
A small place to begin again.
Shelly has always loved crystals and the little objects that make a space feel personal. In 2020, during the pandemic, she lost her husband and her job. It was a painful, unsettled time.
One day, she arranged a small crystal garden and added fragrance. For Shelly, this simple act became a moment of quiet: a chance to pause, gather her thoughts and reflect on what might come next.
She later travelled to Weihai in Shandong, China, looking for crystals and seeking pieces of better quality. Her interest in beautiful objects began to take on a more personal meaning.
GemFolia’s idea grew from that experience. Shelly hopes to encourage others to make room for a new perspective, move beyond patterns that hold them back and take a step toward a new beginning, in their own time.
